The return of star defensive end Aidan Hutchinson, who is undergoing rehabilitation after suffering a broken tibia and fibula in mid-October, is eagerly anticipated by Michigan Wolverines and Detroit Lions supporters. According to a recent injury rehab update, Hutchinson appears to be on his way back, as he has already assured fans that he will return if the Lions make it all the way to the Super Bowl in February. The video below, which was uploaded on Hutchinson’s personal Instagram profile, shows him running on an underwater treadmill.

For Detroit and its supporters, who have watched the Lions defence be decimated by injuries during the 2024 campaign, this is a positive omen. If Detroit wins in the Divisional and/or Wild Card rounds of the NFL Playoffs, Hutchinson might make a comeback as early as the NFC Championship Game, according to a report earlier this month by NFL on Fox reporter Jay Glazer.

When he returned, Hutchinson would significantly improve Detroit’s pass rush as he led the NFL in sacks and quarterback pressure at the time of his injury. The Lions play the San Francisco 49ers on Monday night and the Minnesota Vikings the following week in an attempt to secure the NFC North division title and the top seed in the NFC with two games left in the regular season.
