The roster of inactive players for the Detroit Lions’ Week 17 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers was revealed on Monday. Brodric Martin, Colby Sorsdal, Giovanni Manu, Kayode Awosika, David Montgomery, Jonah Williams, and Teddy Bridgewater are among the players who will not be wearing uniforms.
Bridgewater has been named the Lions’ emergency third quarterback, which means that he can be used if the team needs him because of injuries to Hendon Hooker and Jared Goff. Brigewater came out of retirement this week and was added to the active roster.
After playing for the Lions the previous season, Bridgewater went back to his native Florida to take a coaching position at Miami Northwestern High School, his alma mater. The 32-year-old has returned to the NFL to try to win a title with coach Dan Campbell after leading them to a state championship.
“Dude, I’m here to support this team right now. I’m up for whatever this team has in store, dude. Earlier this week, Bridgewater stated, “It’s heading in the right direction.” “You know what’s ahead for this club because you’ve been watching it the entire year and have spent more time in the locker room than I have. This gang of males is fantastic. But it begins at the top. Outstanding leadership permeates the locker room and radiates throughout it. It is the cause of this team’s current sitting arrangement. Throughout the season, Hooker, a Tennessee native and second-year quarterback, has been Goff’s backup.
This season, Hooker has made three appearances and is six-of-nine for 62 yards.
