Mike Zimmer, a long-time NFL coach, has started 2025 off in fantastic fashion! In a heartfelt Instagram post on Friday, January 3, model Katarina Miketin revealed that she had “said Yes!” to the 68-year-old Dallas Cowboys coach under the song “I Cross My Heart” by George Strait. They said we had to meet five years ago.God was well aware of His actions. In her post, Miketin, 42, said, “I thank God for you, my best friend. So, of course.”
Along with pictures of the couple dining together, wearing silly glasses, and riding horses, the adorable post featured a picture of Miketin flaunting a massive oval-cut diamond engagement ring. After seven years as head coach of the Minnesota Vikings, Zimmer is currently the defensive coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys. According to the New York Post, he and Miketin have been dating since 2021.
According to the Minnesota Star Tribune, Zimmer was previously married, but his wife, Vikki, passed away suddenly on October 8, 2009, at the age of 50, from natural causes. “She was the sweetest, kindest, most caring person who’d never say a bad word about anybody,” he told ESPN.com after her passing. Additionally, the announcement follows the terrible discovery of Zimmer’s 38-year-old son Adam dead inside his Minnesota home in November 2022. This followed a welfare check conducted a few days earlier by local police personnel. Chronic alcohol abuse was later determined to be the cause of his death.
On November 1, 2002, Corri Zimmer White, Adam’s sister and Mike’s daughter, posted a sorrowful message on Instagram about the loss, describing her brother as “the kindest, sweetest, family loving, sports obsessed soul there ever was.” According to athlonsports.com, Zimmer referred to his son, who served as the Cincinnati Bengals’ assistant coach, as a “terrific” child at a Dallas Cowboys press conference in December 2024. He fought back tears and remarked, “He loved football and was smart.” To do this, he would have sacrificed everything. Every Sunday, I can see him cheering from upstairs.
