The Detroit Lions will begin their postseason on Saturday as they take on the Washington Commanders in a Divisional Round

This marks Detroit’s first playoff game after earning the NFC’s No. 1 seed and a first-round bye.
All eyes are on quarterback Jared Goff, who is having one of his best seasons with the Lions.
Fans are counting on the four-time Pro Bowler to maintain his exceptional performance and guide the team to victory against Washington.
On Friday, Goff’s wife, Christen Goff, made an announcement via Instagram ahead of this highly anticipated game.
A native of Valencia, California, Christen has been actively assisting those affected by the devastating wildfires sweeping through southern California.
Jared Goff, who is also from California, was born in Novato, attended Marin Catholic High School in Kentfield, and graduated from the University of California, Berkeley.
Together, Jared and Christen revealed that they have partnered with Michigan-based real estate company Crain Homes to support wildfire victims.
As detailed in Christen’s post, the couple and Crain Homes are asking Detroit residents to contribute to relief efforts in California.
To raise funds, they are auctioning off two VIP tickets for Saturday’s game at Ford Field.
Additional information shared on Christen’s Instagram Stories explained that all proceeds from the auction will be donated to California Strong, a nonprofit organization providing aid to those impacted by the wildfires.
The auctioned tickets include front-row seating, VIP parking, early access to the stadium, and all-inclusive food and beverages in a premium setting.
Bids for the tickets can be submitted through a designated website.
This initiative aims to make a significant difference for the communities devastated by the wildfires.
Meanwhile, a CNN report quoted Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, who said the city is making progress in battling the wildfires.
She intends to issue a series of executive orders aimed at recovery and rebuilding.
Despite this progress, Bass emphasized that the priority remains ensuring displaced residents can return to their homes.
The Lions-Commanders game is not just about football; it’s a chance for fans and the community to rally behind a greater cause.
