Podcast: Lions’ Anger, Sadness, and Hopes for the Future
The Detroit Lions’ 2024 season ended in disappointment.
Lions fans were left stunned following a 45-31 defeat to the Washington Commanders in the NFC Divisional Round of the playoffs. Despite an impressive regular season, the Lions’ postseason run ended abruptly, leaving them to prepare for an offseason filled with potential changes.
Key among these changes is the future of offensive coordinator Ben Johnson and defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn, who are considered top candidates for head coaching roles. Their departure could lead to significant reshuffling within the coaching staff.
“The Lions will retain a talented roster, but they might need to replace critical infrastructure pieces,” co-host Christian Booher said. “When Dan Campbell came in, they nailed these hires. Coaches like Mark Brunell, Antwaan Randle El, Kelvin Sheppard, and Terrell Williams have been excellent, and now they’re being coveted elsewhere. If they leave, Campbell will face pressure to find strong replacements.”
The “Lone Wolves” podcast breaks down the Lions’ shocking loss to the Commanders, explores the reasons for their disappointing finish, and discusses what lies ahead for the team in 2025 and beyond.
