Tyreek Hill has again escalated his rivalry with Noah Lyles, as the Miami Dolphins’ wide receiver suggests the American sprinter isn’t the fastest man in the world, despite his gold medal win at the 2024 Olympic Games.

The 27-year-old, who had faced backlash for criticizing the USA’s egocentric attitude toward international sports, successfully secured first place in the 100m sprint in Paris during the summer. He subsequently earned bronze in the 200m, despite struggling with Covid-19 and requiring oxygen.

For many individuals, that serves as a clear assertion to believe the guy from Gainesville is the quickest person on Earth; however, this does not seem to be the case for Hill, who took to social media to express his disagreement.

“Who granted you that title?” Your Wikipedia page,” Hill tweeted on X.com, previously known as Twitter, after Lyles proclaimed himself the world’s fastest man on Elon Musk’s platform on Sunday, February 2.

The duo has maintained a prolonged argument about who is truly faster, as the NFL athlete, known for his speed, claims he can outrun the professional sprinter who has honed his skills in the sport for more than ten years.

There has not been any race between them and Hill, and notably, he chose not to compete against IShowSpeed; a well-known YouTuber who has a 4.44 time in the 40-yard dash. The Dolphins’ star, known as Cheetah, stated that he was unable to race on a day without practice because of his contract.

The reply from the former Super Bowl champion follows Lyles’ victory in the 60m indoor final, where he clearly conveyed his opinion to Hill by displaying a card that said, “Tyreek could never.”

Tyreek Hill trade speculation: What’s the current update?

The 30-year-old is presently focused on navigating his exit from Hard Rock Stadium after a difficult 2024/25 NFL season in Miami, where he faced challenges without Tua Tagovailoa supporting him at quarterback.

“Hill informed reporters, ‘I am unlocking the door.'” “I’m done man.”

Playing here was fantastic, but ultimately I need to prioritize what is most beneficial for my career. “I’m too competitive to simply be out there.”

However, up to this point, no trade has occurred, and as reported by ESPN, he hasn’t formally asked for a trade from general manager Chris Grier, indicating that he is currently tied to Mike McDaniel’s squad. Hill will enter free agency following the conclusion of the 2026 NFL season.
