Backstage Report On Kevin Owens’ WWE Contract Status – Wrestling Inc.

Backstage Report on Kevin Owens’ WWE Contract Status

Kevin Owens made his entrance at the Royal Rumble event at Lucas Oil Stadium in February. Following a social media post about Girl Scout cookies that seemed to hint at his WWE contract situation, Owens has now reportedly re-signed with the company. According to Fightful Select, Owens signed a five-year deal after his X (formerly Twitter) post, where he promised to keep wrestling for “at least four years, 11 months, and 22 days” if fans supported his daughter’s Girl Scout troop.

The outlet reported that Owens’ previous contract was set to expire either at the end of last year or the beginning of 2025. Until Friday, there had been no official word on whether a new agreement had been finalized. Fightful revealed that the new contract began on the day of the Royal Rumble, February 1, where Owens faced Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes in a ladder match for the title, as well as the winged eagle belt that Owens had been carrying since December’s Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Although Owens did not win the championship at the Royal Rumble, he attacked former friend Sami Zayn with a package piledriver on “WWE Raw” on Monday. Zayn had checked on Owens during the ladder match but didn’t try to stop Rhodes from climbing the ladder while Owens was down. Despite the loss, Owens was reportedly praised backstage for his performance in the match, where he took several bumps and suffered a head injury. Rhodes and producers also credited Owens for the match’s success.
