“I wouldn’t be up here on stage if it weren’t for you,” Allen said to his fiancée as he received the award.
Josh Allen is accumulating awards — all while having fiancée Hailee Steinfeld alongside him.
The 28-year-old Buffalo Bills quarterback was awarded the NFL’s 2025 Most Valuable Player at the NFL Honors on Thursday, February 6, which is the league’s highest accolade. Once his name was announced, Allen faced Steinfeld, who is also 28, for a kiss prior to heading up to receive the trophy.
In his speech, Allen referred to his fiancée as the “last but not least,” expressing to her, “You’ve always been my support, you are my closest companion.” “I wouldn’t be up on this stage without your support.”
In his speech, Allen expressed gratitude to his fellow nominees — Ravens QB Lamar Jackson, Eagles RB Saquon Barkley, Bengals QB Joe Burrow, and Lions QB Jared Goff — as well as to the entire Bills organization, before paying tribute to his emotionally moved parents in the audience.
“I want to express my gratitude to Joel and Lavonne, my parents who, throughout my more than 20 years of playing football, starting back in Pop Warner, I’d guess they only missed about 15 games in their whole life,” Allen stated.
“They are extremely committed to backing me and my preferred teammates, who include my sister, my brother, and my younger sister: Nicala, Jason, Makenna.” I appreciate all the support, time, money, and energy you all invested in me while growing up, going from meetings to games to practices every day. I adore you all. I’m aware that you also take great pride in this.
Allen threw for 28 touchdowns this season and amassed 3,731 yards, while guiding Buffalo to a 13-4 record. He and the Bills had anticipated finally clinching the AFC Championship and returning to the Super Bowl for the first time since 1994, yet once more were unable to defeat the Kansas City Chiefs in the playoffs.
In November, Allen proposed to Steinfeld, and the couple shared their engagement through a joint Instagram post, which is uncommon for the usually-private pair. In the post, they showcased a romantic image of Allen kneeling before Steinfeld, with both encircled by an arch of pink and red roses beside a body of water. They labeled the post straightforwardly, saying: ♾️ 11•22•24 ♾️.
Allen and Steinfeld’s presence at the NFL Honors was their first time on the red carpet. Steinfeld donned a strapless black velvet dress and pointed-toe black heels, completing the outfit with a diamond choker necklace, diamond stud earrings, and her new engagement ring.
Allen, on the other hand, sported a stylish black suit paired with a white shirt and black tie, and gently leaned in to pose alongside Steinfeld.
