Dan Campbell and Jared Goff might have missed out at the NFL Honors this year, but one Michigan resident succeeded, winning an award for her steadfast devotion to the Detroit Lions.

Goetzville local Megan Stefanski was recognized as the NFL Fan of the Year for her unwavering devotion to the Honolulu Blue and Silver

The Lions chose Stefanski as their 2024 Fan of the Year, an honor that swiftly established her as one of the most beloved personalities among the fans. Her schedule became packed with obligations, ranging from meet-and-greets to organizing tailgates alongside fellow Lions enthusiasts, such as Chef Geech.

In December, Stefanski’s relatives and friends — accompanied by Lions mascot Roary — astonished her with the announcement that she would be going to Super Bowl LIX to represent the team.

A key element that makes Stefanski’s commitment so exceptional is her path to Ford Field. A devoted participant at Lions home games, she makes the 10-hour roundtrip journey of over 700 miles from Goetzville to see the team in person.

Stefanski is a member of Pro Football’s Ultimate Fan Association and the Tailgating Hall of Fame as well. She has established a solid reputation in the community for organizing weekly events to honor the team and coordinating travel groups for away games.

As stated on the NFL’s website, she likewise hosts a charity event every summer at her family’s bar and grill, Yooperman’s, to collect funds for Hospice of the EUP, which receives significant backing from her fellow Lions fans, who attend in large numbers. Last year, the event generated an impressive $30,000 over one weekend, after a total of $37,000 the previous year.
