On Thursday, Deion Sanders was present at the NFL Honors with his sons, Deion Sanders Jr. and the NFL-bound Shedeur Sanders. Deiondra Sanders, Coach Prime’s always supportive daughter, honored her father and brothers participating in the showcase event by sharing a picture of them together on her Instagram stories.
She labeled it:
“Mi Familia, esos hombres Sanders!!”
The NFL awards occurred on Thursday in New Orleans as the league continued celebrations leading to the Super Bowl. Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen was named the league’s MVP, while Rams outside linebacker Jared Verse earned the Rookie of the Year award.
Deion Sanders energizes his son before the NFL draft, suggesting that a stay in Colorado is possible.
While being interviewed by Fox’s Jameis Winston on the NFL Honors red carpet, Deion Sanders reflected on the journey he shared with his NFL-bound son, Shedeur Sanders, since he began playing football and discussed his family’s aspirations for draft night.
“You know what, we’re thankful man,” Sanders said. “We didn’t aim to be the first pick, we just aimed to be the first round. High in the first round and we’re gonna achieve that and his goal and his dream is to be drafted higher than I was. And I feel as though we’re gonna achieve that as well.”
In light of rumors that Coach Prime might transition to the NFL after his sons leave college football, the dynamic Buffs coach discussed his inability to coach at the professional level during a segment of his We Got Time Now show earlier this week.
I couldn’t coach pro ball,” Sanders said. “The way they practice, the way they go about it, I couldn’t take it, as a man, and as a football enthusiast, and I care about the game. … there is no way I could allow that to happen on my watch. That would be tough.
“That’s the way we practiced,” Sanders said. “I know it’s cute but I couldn’t coach pro ball. The way they practice, the way they go about it, I couldn’t take it as a man and as a football enthusiast. I care about the game. The game is still providing for Troy and I. There’s no way I could allow that to happen on my watch. That would be tough
The Buffs coach’s announcement regarding his NFL career indicates he will probably remain in Boulder following Shilo and Shedeur Sanders’ move to the league after a prosperous 2024 college football season for Colorado.
