Notre Dame Football Stars Receive “Way Too Early” All-American Recognition

Notre Dame football’s emerging talent is finally earning the national acclaim that fans have long expected—ESPN’s latest rankings confirm it.

While the Notre Dame football team seeks to solidify its quarterback position for the 2025 season, the team already has a rising star in its backfield.

Jeremiah Love had an outstanding 2024 season, but it was his performances during the College Football Playoffs that truly put him on the map. Whether it was his pivotal touchdown run against the Indiana Hoosiers or his ability to power through multiple tackles to score against Penn State, the college football world took notice of Love’s incredible skills.

It seems that others are starting to realize what Notre Dame fans have known for a while—that Love is one of the best players in the country. This week, ESPN highlighted him in its “way too early” All-American list, making him the lone offensive representative from Notre Dame.

Jeremiah Love Earns All-American Spot for Notre Dame Football

In Chris Low’s ranking, Love is listed as one of the First Team All-American running backs, alongside Nicholas Singleton, whom he faced in the College Football Playoffs. Meanwhile, Penn State’s Kaytron Allen and Missouri’s Ahmad Hardy secured spots on the second team.

Low explained his reasoning for including Love, stating:

“Love embodied Notre Dame’s push to the national championship game last season. Despite battling injuries, particularly in the postseason, he kept fighting. With a full offseason to recover, Love is poised to become one of the most productive running backs in college football. He scored 19 touchdowns last season and was nearly impossible to tackle, whether he was bulldozing through defenders, evading them, or leaping over them.”

While Jeremiah Love is the sole First Team offensive representative, defensive back Leonard Moore also made the team on defense, which is a notable accomplishment given that he is a freshman and already showing promise.

Additionally, offensive lineman Billy Schrauth earned a spot on the second team of ESPN’s “way too early” All-American list.
