The Detroit Lions are deep into their offseason activities, with much talk among NFL analysts, experts, and franchise officials regarding ways to strengthen their roster and aim for a Super Bowl run next year. A primary focus for the team is to enhance their defensive line, featuring standout player Aidan Hutchinson from Michigan.
Noticing that the Lions’ offense is quite powerful and stable, attention turns to the defense, particularly ensuring Hutchinson is fit and prepared, along with the other 13 players on injured reserve at the season’s conclusion. Currently, Hutchinson is discussing the team’s defense and his aspirations for next season.
Aidan Hutchinson Talks Detroit Lions Defense
Hutchinson discussed his chat with Garrett in an interview on “The Squeeze” podcast featuring Tay and Taylor Lautner. During the show, he disclosed that he and Garrett were talking about how fantastic they would be as teammates.
“I mean… if Myles and I teamed up, it would be lethal,” Hutchinson stated during the February 19 episode. “I was conversing with him…at [the NFL Honors] and we were simply discussing what might happen.” While it may not be very probable… I would be excited to play alongside him if it did occur. Our entire defensive line would be significantly improved, and…that would make for a frightening D-line.
Naturally, that would be “frightening” for other teams. The strain these athletes would create for quarterbacks would be severe, to say the least. In the previous season, Hutchinson and Garrett ranked first and second in Pro Football Focus’ pass-rushing ratings, and both have demonstrated their capabilities, even though Hutchinson’s season was shortened because of an injury. It would be an ideal situation for the Detroit Lions.
Browns Star Contacted Hutchinson Following Injury
Hutchinson mentioned that Garrett contacted him following his injury last season, which was a nice gesture.
“I believe I’ve spotted him at various events over the past few years,” Hutchinson remarked. “He sent me a message after I got injured which, I’m not sure, it was simply a nice gesture… I believe he’s a decent guy and if he does [join the Detroit Lions], awesome.” However, I’m uncertain. We’ll find out. “That would be amazing.
