Since Patrick Mahomes became the starting quarterback in 2018, the Kansas City Chiefs have established themselves as one of the elite teams in the NFL.

Mahomes has played in the league for eight years, being the starting player for seven. The Chiefs have since secured three Super Bowl victories and five AFC titles.

Even with Mahomes’ success, Kansas City concluded the 2024 season on a shaky note.

After postseason victories against the Buffalo Bills and Houston Texans, the Chiefs experienced a 40-22 defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX.

Following the season, Kansas City revealed that offensive guard Joe Thuney was named the team MVP, as chosen by the players. Although there was significant focus on Thuney’s achievement, numerous fans took to the comments to convey a message to the Chiefs regarding offensive coordinator Matt Nagy.

Certain fans expressed their dissatisfaction with Nagy and the Chiefs, calling for his removal from the team.

“I’m not going to watch any games until we let Nagy go,” remarked a fan.

“Remove Nagy,” stated another supporter.

“Substitute Nagy.” “Sign/introduce new players,” noted a supporter.

“Until you let go of Nagy, the team won’t get better,” remarked a fan.

“Dismiss Nagy,” stated a fan.

Matt Nagy. Departed. “NOW,” remarked another supporter.

Nagy maintains a lasting partnership with the Chiefs’ front office. He initially became part of the coaching team in 2013 as the quarterbacks coach. Following his tenure in that position from 2013 to 2015, Nagy became the offensive coordinator from 2016 to 2017.

He subsequently served as the head coach of the Chicago Bears from 2018 to 2021. Following his dismissal from the Bears, Nagy came back as the senior assistant and quarterbacks coach in 2022. Starting in the 2023 season, he has been the offensive coordinator for Kansas City.

In the 2024 season, the Chiefs’ offense recorded an average of 327.6 yards per game (17th in the NFL) and scored 22.6 points per game (15th). Quarterback Patrick Mahomes wrapped up the season with a completion rate of 67.5%, throwing for 3,928 yards, netting 26 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
