Bronny James Opens Up About Playing With Luka Doncic

While LeBron James and Luka Doncic were leading the Los Angeles Lakers to their second consecutive win on Saturday night, Bronny James, LeBron’s son, was in the G League over the weekend.

Bronny James played with the South Bay Lakers on Saturday, taking on the Valley Suns in his 13th G League game. In a 118-98 victory, Bronny delivered one of his stronger performances, scoring 24 points on 10-of-16 shooting, along with five rebounds and six assists.

Meanwhile, LeBron and Doncic, the new Lakers duo, finally displayed their full potential, ending Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets’ nine-game winning streak with a dominant 123-100 win.

After the South Bay Lakers’ victory over the Valley Suns, Bronny James spoke with ClutchPoints’ Raj Chipalu, offering his thoughts on his new teammate, Doncic. When asked about what he’s learned from Doncic, Bronny shared his insights.

“Just his patience,” Bronny said. “He’s so unpredictable. I think that’s what I’ve noticed most about him—you never know what he’s going to do. That’s been the best thing I’ve seen. He hasn’t been here long, so I just try to learn as much as I can from him.”

Bronny’s most recent NBA game came in Doncic’s first loss with the Lakers, a 131-119 defeat to Lauri Markkanen and the Utah Jazz. Although Bronny only played eight minutes in garbage time, he set career highs, scoring nine points and hitting two 3-pointers.

The Los Angeles Lakers will continue their 2024-25 season with a six-game home stretch, starting Tuesday against Kyrie Irving and the Dallas Mavericks. This game will mark Doncic’s first matchup against his former team, though Anthony Davis has been ruled out due to injury.
