Nine interceptions can place you in the elite discussion regarding NFL safeties.

Despite his outstanding 2024 season, Detroit Lions defensive back Kerby Joseph did not make it onto his first Pro Bowl roster.

He’s not concerned about the all-star snub, and definitely doesn’t believe it undermines the assertion that he’s “for sure” the top safety in the league.

“I believe I’m the greatest,” Joseph remarked recently on The Jim Rome Show. “And I will constantly aim to remain the best.”

In numerous ways, the 24-year-old Joseph was acknowledged as the top performer in his role.

The nine interceptions previously mentioned topped the league.

Joseph was subsequently selected for The Associated Press All-Pro team and was also part of the Next Gen Stats All-Pro group. Additionally, Pro Football Focus ranked him as the highest safety, achieving a 90.4 rating.

However, the third-year star failed to receive his first career Pro Bowl selection, instead confirming his status as snubbed.

“To be honest, I don’t truly have a problem with it.” “How it all unfolded… it’s no surprise that occurred,” Joseph remarked. “I somewhat already sensed that something was going to occur with that.” I honestly have no problem with the Pro Bowl. It’s an excellent occasion, and it’s also wonderful for the supporters and so on. A big shoutout to the players who earned a spot in the Pro Bowl. It simply wasn’t my year, and that’s okay. “I wasn’t actually aiming to attend the Pro Bowl this year, after all, I was hoping for the Super Bowl, so it’s all good.”

Joseph suggesting that being overlooked wasn’t surprising caught attention and prompted a response from Rome, but the Lions star refrained from discussing the matter further.

His career has seen its share of controversy, having produced hits that harmed Los Angeles Rams tight end Tyler Higbee and Minnesota Vikings TE T.J. Hockenson. Green Bay Packers tight end Tucker Kraft has been outspoken about his dislike for the Detroit ballhawk.

It’s possible that a negative reputation prevented Joseph from being selected for the Pro Bowl Games, but that remains uncertain given that the selection is based on votes from fans, players, and coaches.

No matter the reasons he was omitted from the NFC Pro Bowl roster, Joseph is aware that he deserved a spot.

“You can observe the statistics,” he stated.

He’s unaffected by it and progressing, just like he and the Lions will after a remarkable 15-2 regular season ended abruptly with a Divisional Round elimination.

Despite a defense hampered by injuries, Joseph remains optimistic about a potential 2024 season.

“We faced many challenges, particularly on defense; we dealt with numerous injuries and similar issues,” he stated. “As I mentioned during training camp, I stated to the entire team and specifically to the DB group, ‘Guys, it will require all of us to achieve victory.'” We proceeded to the limit of our ability. We experienced a fantastic season. “I believe I evolved as an individual, enhancing both my leadership and communication abilities.”

His status as possibly the best safety in the league also increased, even though a Pro Bowl selection eluded him.
