Joseph went on his X account to share an image of Peter Griffin hiding in the shadows in response to Johnson’s remarks. Robertson responded by quoting the post and adding the caption “Yah feel me…”

The remarks might have touched a nerve with Joseph and Robertson, yet they were not without justification.

 

Last season, the Lions finished fourth in rushing yards with 454 and were tied for third by allowing six rushing touchdowns to quarterbacks. The top performances were when Josh Allen amassed 430 total yards and four touchdowns – with two being rushing – during a 48-42 defeat in Week 15, while Jayden Daniels recorded 350 total yards and two passing touchdowns in the 45-31 defeat against the Washington Commanders in the divisional round of the playoffs.

Although both of those games were significant defeats in the Lions’ season, Williams’s displays against Detroit might be what highlights the situation. Although the Lions secured victories in both matches, Williams performed admirably, passing for 590 yards, five touchdowns, and zero interceptions while rushing 10 times for 73 yards.

 

It’s a skill set that not only Johnson might be eager to employ, but one that consistently tore apart the Lions defense last season. With Johnson heading to Chicago, Joseph and Robertson might be more driven to contain dynamic quarterbacks like Williams and provide Lions fans the ultimate satisfaction when they face off next season.
