Here’s a recent college basketball report from the Associated Press

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) — Chris Youngblood delivered a season-high 27 points, and No. 6 Alabama connected on nearly half of its 45 three-point attempts in a dominant 111-73 victory over No. 24 Mississippi State on Tuesday night.

Mark Sears contributed 21 points and 10 assists for the Crimson Tide (23-5, 12-3 SEC), who set a new season best by hitting 22 of 45 shots from beyond the arc (49%).

Youngblood was particularly sharp, making 7 of 11 three-pointers, while Sears connected on 5 of 12. Jarin Stevenson came off the bench and went a perfect 3 for 3 from deep.

Backup guard Aden Holloway also hit three triples, finishing with 13 points and five assists. Mouhamed Dioubate recorded a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds, while Labaron Philon added 10 points and five assists.

Mississippi State (19-9, 7-8) saw Josh Hubbard lead the way with 21 points on 8-of-22 shooting. KeShawn Murphy came off the bench to contribute 18 points and 11 rebounds

Takeaways

Mississippi State: The Bulldogs closed out February with two uncharacteristically weak defensive performances against the three-point shot, first allowing Oklahoma to hit 11 of 26 before Alabama’s barrage. Prior to these matchups, Mississippi State hadn’t let an opponent exceed 40% shooting from beyond the arc since Feb. 1.

Alabama: Showed significant defensive improvement compared to recent losses against No. 1 Auburn and then-No. 15 Missouri, who combined to shoot 53% from the floor in those games.
