Lindsay Shiver, a Georgia mother accused of conspiring to hire a hitman to murder her estranged husband, former NFL player Robert Shiver, with assistance from her alleged lover in the Bahamas, was reportedly anticipated to be freed on bail from a prison in the Bahamas.
Shiver, 38, is anticipated to come back to the United States after securing $100,000 bail, as reported by “Good Morning America,” which spoke with Shiver last year, prompting criticism from the Nassau judge managing the Georgia beauty pageant winner’s situation.
Justice Cheryl Grant-Thompson canceled Shiver’s bail last year following the GMA interview, deeming it a “blatant disregard for the court’s leniency and indulgence,” but she allegedly changed her ruling this week on the condition that Shiver and her 30-year-old partner, Terrance Bethel, uphold their silence according to a gag order.
Shiver’s lawyer in the Bahamas, Ian Cargill, stated that she was anticipated to be granted bail on Thursday, as reported by WDHN. Cargill has not yet replied to an inquiry from Fox News Digital about her alleged release.
Shiver, together with her partner, Bethel, and the suspected hitman, Faron Newbold Jr., were detained in the Bahamas in July 2023. They entered a plea of not guilty for every charge.
This will not be accepted and cannot be allowed. The actions of the respondents may be viewed by the applicant as a slap in the face of justice,” Grant-Thompson stated in a filing on Monday, as reported by Loop News.
Shiver’s lawyers allegedly contended that she complied with her jail conditions, a claim the judge rejected.
“The ruling explicitly stated that if Mrs. Shiver intended to travel or relocate beyond the specified area, she was required to first reach out and seek the court’s permission,” the judge noted in her decision, emphasizing that the rationale behind revoking bail was also to protect Shiver from potential danger after another boyfriend attempted to “choke and suffocate her with a pillow in Alabama,” as reported by Loop News.
In December 2023, Grant-Thompson released Shiver, a mother of three, on $100,000 bail and permitted her to return to the United States under specific conditions, one of which Shiver seemingly violated by giving a TV interview.
After 13 years of marriage, the Shivers hit a breaking point, reflected in divorce papers, where Robert claims Lindsay had an affair, while Lindsay responds with charges of “physical and mental cruel treatment,” which include claims of domestic violence.
Both are pursuing primary custody of their children and exclusive rights to their $2.5 million residence in Georgia.
In bodycam footage acquired earlier by Fox News Digital, Lindsay dialed 911 on Robert on July 16, 2023, after he denied her a ride on their private jet to see her partner in the Bahamas.
On that same day, she supposedly sent a WhatsApp message to Newbold stating, “Kill him.” Five days later, she was apprehended in the Bahamas, together with Bethel and Newbold, for plotting to kill Robert.
During a court appearance in December 2023, which he attended via Zoom, Robert informed the judge that he was “grateful to be alive,” as previously reported by Court TV.
