The 2021 NFL Draft proved to be a significant achievement for the Detroit Lions.

Their draft class from that year included two All-Pros, one of whom was Amon-Ra St. Brown.

It additionally featured numerous other players who have made contributions in recent seasons. Derrick Barnes, Levi Onwuzurike, Alim McNeil, and Ifeatu Melifonwu were chosen as members of that group.

It appears that a standout student from the class did not actually desire to be chosen by the Lions.

In a recent episode of the “St. Brown Podcast,” St. Brown disclosed that he informed his brother the Lions were the sole team he hoped would not draft him prior to his selection.

Although it might not have been his ideal situation initially, being drafted by the Lions has turned out to be quite beneficial for St. Brown.

In his four years in Detroit, he has accumulated 430 receptions for 4851 yards and 33 touchdowns.

Those statistics have secured him three Pro Bowl selections and a place on the All-Pro First Team for the past two consecutive years.

He also secured a four-year contract extension worth just over $120 million, ensuring he remains in Detroit until 2028.

The Lions’ organization has significantly progressed since they selected St. Brown. The year prior to his draft, they secured five victories and achieved three in his inaugural season.
