The Kansas City Chiefs are currently engaged in free agency following a Super Bowl defeat. All of their strongest rivals in the AFC are improving, whereas they seem to be declining. Will they be able to return to the Super Bowl next year?

The Kansas City Chiefs have parted ways with vital components of their dynasty during free agency. They dealt Joe Thuney to the Chicago Bears and also lost Justin Reid to the New Orleans Saints. They’ve reinstated a few of their stars, such as Nick Bolton, but they are losing more individuals than they can acquire.

I’m curious if, following three consecutive Super Bowl appearances, the Chiefs are starting to experience a slight decline. It won’t be possible to determine until the regular season resumes, and they have yet to choose their rookies in the NFL

Nonetheless, if their upcoming season heavily relies on their free agency results to date, I feel that next year will showcase a different team from the AFC in the Super Bowl. They are still anticipated to lose key players from their defense, such as Charles Omenihu and Derrick Nnadi.

It’s not solely about the players departing, as historically, Patrick Mahomes has managed to perform wonders for the Chiefs no matter the talent around him. I believe the AFC landscape will change significantly next year.

Every team in the AFC West, even within their own division, is expected to perform better than the previous season. The Las Vegas Raiders probably won’t remain a four-win team following their trade for Geno Smith. The Denver Broncos are experiencing an impressive free agency by enhancing their already strong defense and acquiring tools for Bo Nix.

Jim Harbaugh creates a victorious environment wherever he lands; I doubt he will let Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers collapse in the playoffs as they previously did. It can be said that the Chiefs’ primary rival is the Buffalo Bills, who have also performed well in free agency.

They signed Joey Bosa and head into next season with the MVP on their team. It appears that the Chiefs are fated to regress next season. To prevent that, their players must rise to the occasion and adapt to a greater workload both offensively and defensively.

Their offense was lackluster for much of last season. Ideally, their wide receiver group can stay healthy and aid in restoring the Chiefs’ offense that was once so dynamic and explosive.
