Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown has generated numerous memorable moments for fans at the start of his NFL journey.
The skilled wide receiver has become one of the most dependable targets in Detroit’s attack. His relationship with quarterback Jared Goff took time to grow, but ultimately gained momentum during the latter part of his rookie season.
Remember, Anthony Lynn served as Detroit’s offensive coordinator during the 2021 season, which was Dan Campbell’s inaugural year coaching the Lions.
After being selected in the fourth round in 2021, St. Brown was not initially a key part of the offense.
After Ben Johnson was elevated to passing game coordinator, St. Brown began to receive more targets and demonstrated why he had the potential for a promising future in Detroit’s offense.
In the season three finale of the ‘St. Brown’ podcast, the ex-USC wide receiver was queried about his favorite play since joining the Lions.
“My favorite play is my initial touchdown,” St. Brown answered in response to a question from a listener submitted online. “Facing the Vikings, no time remaining, game-winner.” We still hadn’t secured a victory all year, during my rookie season. The incident had just occurred at Oxford High School, which was horrifying. I recall there were students from that high school at the match; I greeted them. They were really thrilled to be present and see the Lions compete.
“Our helmet featured the Oxford logo and all that.” I believe the coaches were wearing the hat and all. “It was simply a wild period in Michigan,” St. Brown remarked. “We ultimately triumphed in our initial game, marking my first touchdown.” It seems that for me, after that performance, everything started to skyrocket. “That’s my most loved play.”
