When it comes to toughness, drive, and heart, Dan Campbell knows what he likes — and Grant Stuard fits the mold perfectly.
The Detroit Lions head coach couldn’t stop raving about the team’s newest special teams weapon, and honestly, it seems like Stuard might contribute all over the field this season.
Campbell held nothing back when describing what he loves most about Stuard.
“Stuard can do everything, man,” Campbell said, via Pride of Detroit. “He’s a guy people have overlooked. But he just keeps making plays in this league. He’s a special teams force, no doubt. And he can play defense. I mean, he played defense against us.”
That’s major praise from a coach who values rugged, flexible players that bring it on every snap. And Stuard’s energy and attitude have clearly made an impact on Detroit’s coaching staff.
Here’s where it gets really fun. While Stuard is mostly recognized for his special teams and defensive work, Campbell might have more in mind.
“This guy is elite on special teams, and he’s played defense, too. And maybe even offense,” Campbell teased.
