Detroit Lions Welcome SEC Edge Rusher for Pre-Draft Visit

Lions Host SEC Edge Rusher Ahead of 2025 NFL Draft
The Detroit Lions continue to prepare thoroughly for the 2025 NFL Draft — and that includes evaluating one of the SEC’s rising defensive prospects from Alabama.

Crimson Tide senior Que Robinson visited Detroit this week for an official pre-draft meeting, per NFL insider Jordan Schultz. The trip to Allen Park marked the start of a busy stretch for Robinson, who is also scheduled to meet with several other NFL franchises in the coming days.

What Robinson Offers as a Prospect
Before suffering a season-ending injury against LSU, Robinson displayed the kind of impact plays that scouts love. In nine games, he tallied four sacks and seven tackles for loss, emerging as a difference-maker on Alabama’s defensive line. He started in five contests and appeared to be gaining momentum before the injury halted his season.

Standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 243 pounds, Robinson boasts the size and athletic traits teams often prioritize when trying to bolster their edge rush depth.

Where He Could Fit with the Lions
The Lions’ current edge and linebacker group already includes Aidan Hutchinson and Marcus Davenport, so Robinson wouldn’t be thrown into a lead role early on. But under new defensive coordinator Kelvin Sheppard, there’s room for a raw but talented player like Robinson to grow into a contributor.

Special teams could also be a gateway — a common route for later picks or undrafted prospects to carve out a role. Robinson has the potential to contribute there while developing his skill set further.

Detroit has emphasized adding players with versatility, grit, and upside all offseason. Que Robinson checks those boxes — and this visit proves the Lions are paying close attention.
