After more than four decades of electrifying performances, iconic rock band Def Leppard has officially announced their farewell tour, set to begin on August 20, 2025. The legendary British rockers, known for timeless anthems like “Pour Some Sugar on Me,” “Photograph,” and “Love Bites,” are taking a final bow with a worldwide tour that promises to be a historic celebration of their career and legacy.

The tour, aptly named “The Last Dance,” will span several continents, including North America, Europe, South America, and Asia. Kicking off in Los Angeles, California, the band plans to hit over 50 cities before wrapping things up in their hometown of Sheffield, England in early 2026. The first leg of the tour, which includes 30 U.S. dates, will run through the fall, bringing the band to major arenas and stadiums.

In a joint statement released on their official website and social media platforms, the band wrote:
“This isn’t goodbye to music, but it’s goodbye to the road. We’ve given everything to our fans for over 45 years, and now it’s time to go out on a high note. We’re bringing the energy, the hits, and a show you’ll never forget.”

Lead singer Joe Elliott spoke more personally in an interview following the announcement:
“We’ve been incredibly fortunate to have the kind of career most bands only dream of. Our fans have stuck with us through thick and thin — this tour is for them. It’s about celebrating every moment together, one last time.”

Formed in 1977, Def Leppard rose to fame during the early 1980s with their breakthrough album “Pyromania,” followed by the global success of “Hysteria,” which remains one of the best-selling albums of all time. With their unique blend of melodic hooks, powerful vocals, and stadium-ready guitar riffs, they became one of the defining acts of the glam-metal era and beyond.

The band’s current lineup — Joe Elliott (vocals), Phil Collen (guitar), Vivian Campbell (guitar), Rick Savage (bass), and Rick Allen (drums) — has remained consistent for years and is known for their tight musicianship and explosive live shows. Despite health scares and personal tragedies, the band has endured and maintained a powerful presence on the touring circuit, especially during the 2010s and 2020s.

The 2025 farewell tour is expected to feature a career-spanning setlist, special guests, and a production scale that matches the band’s historic run. Longtime fans can expect a mix of the classics along with deep cuts and maybe even a few surprises. VIP packages, meet-and-greets, and exclusive merchandise will also be available.

Tickets for the North American dates go on pre-sale starting August 16, with general sales beginning August 18 via major ticket platforms and the band’s official website. International tour dates will be announced in the coming weeks.

As one of rock’s most resilient and successful bands, Def Leppard’s farewell tour is poised to be a major cultural moment — a tribute to their enduring influence and the multi-generational fan base that has carried them through five decades.

For fans around the world, this is more than just a concert — it’s a chance to be part of rock history. The countdown has begun.
