AMA ANNOUNCES 2025 U.S. MOTOCROSS OF NATIONS TEAM

AMA Director of Racing and new Team USA manager Mike Pelletier selected Chase Sexton, Eli Tomac and Haiden Deegan to represent the flag on home soil in Ironman Raceway, Crawfordsville, Ind. on 3-5 October…

The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) has officially unveiled its lineup for the 2025 Motocross of Nations (MXoN), and it’s one that has already sent a surge of excitement through the motocross community. AMA Director of Racing and newly appointed Team USA manager Mike Pelletier announced that Chase Sexton, Eli Tomac, and Haiden Deegan will proudly represent the Stars and Stripes when the prestigious international event returns to American soil at Ironman Raceway in Crawfordsville, Indiana, from October 3–5, 2025.

The announcement came during a press conference at the AMA headquarters in Pickerington, Ohio, where Pelletier emphasized the strength, balance, and determination of this year’s roster. “This is one of the most talented and complete teams we’ve ever assembled,” he said. “All three riders are proven champions and fierce competitors, and with the Motocross of Nations returning to the U.S., we have a golden opportunity to reclaim the Chamberlain Trophy in front of our home fans.”

A Dream Team for 2025

Leading the charge for Team USA will be Chase Sexton, the 2023 AMA Supercross Champion and current Red Bull KTM Factory Racing rider. Known for his smooth yet aggressive style, Sexton is expected to anchor the team in the MXGP class, where his consistency and technical prowess make him a serious threat to any international rival.

Joining him is Eli Tomac, the veteran Yamaha racer and one of the most decorated American riders of the modern era. After returning from injury earlier this season, Tomac has shown flashes of his old brilliance, reminding fans why he remains a cornerstone of U.S. motocross. Slated to compete in the Open class, Tomac’s experience and raw speed could prove pivotal in leading Team USA back to victory.

Rounding out the squad is the young sensation Haiden Deegan, who will ride in the MX2 class. At just 19 years old, Deegan has become one of the sport’s brightest rising stars, combining fearless energy with remarkable skill and maturity. His inclusion marks a generational shift — pairing a seasoned legend and a world-class champion with the next face of American motocross.

“Representing my country has always been a dream,” said Deegan. “To line up alongside guys like Eli and Chase at home in front of our fans — that’s something special. We’re going all-in for the win.”

A Return to U.S. Soil

The 2025 Motocross of Nations will mark the first time since 2022 that the event is held in the United States, and the first-ever edition at Ironman Raceway, one of the most popular stops on the AMA Pro Motocross Championship calendar. Known for its deep ruts, challenging elevation changes, and massive crowds, Ironman provides a perfect battleground for motocross’s ultimate international showdown.

The last time Team USA captured the Chamberlain Trophy was in 2022 at RedBud, Michigan — ending an 11-year drought and reigniting American dominance. With the competition returning home once again, expectations are sky-high.

“Racing on home soil gives us an edge,” said Chase Sexton. “The fans, the atmosphere, the pride — it all fuels us. We’re not just racing for points or podiums; we’re racing for America.”

Manager Mike Pelletier’s First Campaign

For Mike Pelletier, 2025 marks his debut as Team USA manager, taking over from longtime leader Roger DeCoster. “Roger built a foundation of excellence, and I want to carry that forward,” Pelletier said. “We’ve got a team with experience, youth, and hunger. It’s the perfect balance to take on the world.”

He also highlighted the cooperation between teams, manufacturers, and sponsors in assembling the roster, noting that the AMA, MX Sports, and Feld Entertainment have all worked together to make this year’s campaign a unified effort.

The Road to Ironman

Preparations are already underway, with testing sessions scheduled for early September and team coordination between factory crews to ensure peak performance. The riders will also engage in fan meet-and-greet events across the country ahead of the race, building excitement for what’s expected to be one of the most anticipated MXoN events in history.

As the countdown to October 3–5 begins, the message from Team USA is clear — they’re ready to bring the trophy home. With Sexton’s finesse, Tomac’s experience, and Deegan’s youthful fire, America’s 2025 MXoN squad looks poised to deliver an unforgettable performance on home turf.

In the words of Eli Tomac: “When you wear that red, white, and blue jersey, you’re not just racing for yourself — you’re racing for a nation. And we plan to make America proud.”
