<\/p>\nThe New York Jets unveiled their new head coach, Aaron Glenn, former Detroit Lions defensive coordinator, on Monday.<\/p>\n
This announcement came as owner Woody Johnson and his team sought to bounce back from a disappointing 2024 season.<\/p>\n
The Jets had fired their defensive-focused head coach, Robert Saleh, during the season and opted for another defensive-minded leader with strong ties to the franchise\u2014former star defensive back Aaron Glenn.<\/p>\n

Glenn, who played a key role in leading the Lions to the NFC’s best regular-season record last year, compared the Jets’ potential to the Lions\u2019 remarkable rise to first place in Detroit last season.<\/p>\n
“Dan Campbell, outstanding man,” Glenn said. “When we went to Detroit with Dan, we were at the bottom. But we did what? We brought it to the top,” Glenn shared.<\/p>\n
“So here\u2019s what I\u2019ve been able to do in the last nine years: take a team to the top, reach the peak, and maintain it. That\u2019s what we\u2019ll bring here.”<\/p>\n
Last season, the Jets finished third in the NFL in total defense, allowing just under 314 yards per game.<\/p>\n
Offensively, the Aaron Rodgers-led team struggled, ranking near the bottom with just over 310 yards per game.<\/p>\n
