The Saints secured a vital 2-1 victory at Portman Road, earning three crucial points in their battle to avoid relegation.<\/p>\n
It was only their second win of the season, but it kept their Premier League survival hopes alive.<\/p>\n
Southampton remain at the bottom of the table after a poor first half of the season, now seven points behind Ipswich.<\/p>\n
They are still 10 points adrift of safety, which they aim to reduce over the rest of the season.<\/p>\n
The Saints will return to action on Saturday (8 February) for an FA Cup tie against Burnley, before facing Bournemouth in the Premier League on 15 February.<\/p>\n
Onuachu has netted two goals in his last three appearances after starting consecutive matches for the team.<\/p>\n
The Nigerian international has made 14 appearances this season for Southampton but has become an important part of the squad since Christmas.<\/p>\n
