Mason Cameron of Pro Football Focus assessed potential landing spots for top free agent linebackers, naming the Lions as a possibility for Dre Greenlaw of the San Francisco 49ers.<\/p>\n
Greenlaw appeared in only two games this season as he recovered from an Achilles injury, and a calf injury forced him to IR at the season\u2019s end. This could make him a questionable free-agent target, but if his medical checks out, the Lions might find great value.<\/p>\n
Under Brad Holmes, the Lions have been cautious spenders in free agency. This approach has proven wise, as they\u2019ve avoided bad long-term contracts that could restrict their financial flexibility. Their fiscal restraint now might allow them to make a more significant move.<\/p>\n

Few might remember that Greenlaw was named PFWA All-Rookie in 2019. Over his career, he has been a consistent tackler with 455 tackles, 3.5 sacks, three interceptions, and 14 passes defended.
