He was 46 years old.<\/p>\n<p>Jake Shoff passed away at 46<\/p>\n<p>The BYU basketball social media accounts posted, \u201cCougar Nation mourns the loss of basketball alum, Jake Shoff. Our hearts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ben Criddle, Jake Shoff\u2019s brother-in-law and former BYU football cornerback, shared on X:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn behalf of the Shoff and Criddle families, we mourn the loss of a giant of a man\u2014a giant in every way. Our world has been turned upside down. We are devastated and in shock. Words cannot express the emptiness we are all feeling.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Shoff was part of two BYU basketball teams that made it to the NCAA Tournament under head coach Steve Cleveland.<\/p>\n<p>A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Shoff served a two-year mission in Honduras.<\/p>\n<p>Shoff was the CEO of The Phoenix Recovery Center and described the treatment industry as his \u201clife\u2019s professional passion.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Shoff is survived by his wife, Emily, and their four sons.<\/p>\n<p>The Shoff and Criddle families posted on social media, \u201cWe want to remind everyone that Jake would want us all to \u2018Rise and Shout\u2019 in this life! Seize every moment! Make a difference in the lives of those around you! Love your friends and family!
