Gibbs began the last three games of the regular season for the Lions after Montgomery&#8217;s knee injury.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The tandem\u2019s 32 scrimmage touchdowns topped all NFL backfields, while Gibbs spearheaded the league with 20 touchdowns personally.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;When everything is finished and our time playing together has ended, we will be the greatest running back duo in history,&#8221; Montgomery stated.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Gibbs is moving into the third year of his initial contract, whereas Montgomery&#8217;s deal extends to 2027. The two will reunite next season with new offensive coordinator John Morton.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Coach Campbell and Brad [Holmes] excel at surrounding us with the right people and fostering our culture for everyone&#8217;s advantage,&#8221;
