There\u2019s a lot of discussion regarding if former Detroit Lions and current Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford will make his return to L.A. next season. Stafford has expressed his desire to continue playing in the NFL in 2025, but this does not imply that a contract will be finalized with the Rams.<\/p>\n

Concerning everything Stafford, NFL analyst and sports figure Colin Cowherd is providing some insider insight into the Rams’ status on extending Stafford’s contract.<\/p>\n

Matthew Stafford and His Wife Irritating the Rams: Report\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

On the February 13 episode of his show, Cowherd shares plenty of thoughts regarding the former Detroit Lions and current Rams quarterback and the overall NFL quarterback landscape. During the broadcast, she mentioned that he \u201cmade several calls yesterday and sent a few texts this morning\u201d and was \u201cplanning to suggest something\u201d based on his insider information.<\/p>\n

His primary suggestions included Stafford to the New York Giants and Aaron Rodgers to the Los Angeles Rams. Crazy, isn’t it? However, what he mentioned regarding Stafford coming back to the Rams was even more intriguing.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Rams like Matt Stafford, but they\u2019re tiring of the constant quarterback talk, his wife saying things publicly,\u201d Cowherd said. \u201cThey\u2019re not real happy with Cooper Kupp going public with something they tried to keep quiet.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cowherd mentioned that the Los Angeles front office was growing weary of the ongoing chatter about Stafford, along with Stafford and his wife, Kelly, discussing on her podcast their criticisms of the Rams\u2019 management regarding various choices, including the departure of Cooper Kupp.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Rams appreciate Matt Stafford, but they\u2019re growing weary of the ongoing quarterback discussions, especially with his wife making remarks in public,\u201d Cowherd stated. “They’re not very pleased with Cooper Kupp for disclosing something they wanted to keep under wraps.”<\/p>\n

He mentioned that “they’re somewhat done with Cooper Kupp, and along with that, a bit with Matt Stafford.” They appreciate him, but they are unwilling to revise his contract or grant him a new one.<\/p>\n

Ex-Lions Quarterback May Be Heading to New York\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Regarding Stafford moving to the Giants, Cowherd claimed that the Giants are not concerned about the “quarterback class” and that head coach Brian Daboll and GM Joe Schoen must achieve victories or face termination by Thanksgiving. \u201cThey’re going to be chased out of the building.\u201d<\/p>\n

He mentioned, \u201cI think they will take action regarding Matt Stafford.\u201d<\/p>\n

Shifting focus to Stafford’s wife’s remarks, on the February 6 episode of her podcast, “The Morning After,” she discussed Kupp being informed about the Rams’ intentions to trade him.<\/p>\n

“I truly didn’t intend to talk about this, but why not,” she remarked during the show. \u201cMy husband, for real, desires to win.\u201d He\u2019s not attempting to place a team in a difficult position. \u201cIf you understand what I mean, you understand what I mean.<\/p>\n

She further intensified speculation about Stafford’s potential trade by stating that although she adores “the city of L.A.,” she equally enjoys “an adventure.”<\/p>\n

At the conclusion of last season, Stafford signed a contract with the Rams for a temporary increase for the 2024 season with no definitive arrangement afterward. Stafford has a $49.6 million salary cap in 2025. Los Angeles might save $27 million by dealing him after June 1 or $23 million prior to June<\/p>\n
