<\/p>\nAccording to their policy, season tickets are meant for personal use, and the Lions reserve the right to revoke them if they are primarily purchased for resale on the secondary market or if there are excessive electronic ticket transfers that don’t align with personal use.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut this isn\u2019t a new policy,\u201d he says. \u201cIt\u2019s been around for a while, even during the tough seasons, but it was never enforced then.\u201d<\/p>\n
He went on to explain that he sells his extra tickets to cover the costs of traveling to both home and away games, as he now resides in Philadelphia.<\/p>\n
\u201cSure, some argue that I\u2019m preventing other fans from getting tickets, and I\u2019m not denying that entirely. But why was there no issue when I had 8 tickets back when the Lions were only winning five games a season? Why revoke my tickets now after I\u2019ve lost thousands each year? I understand all perspectives here\u2014my own, the Lions\u2019 business side, and the fans who can\u2019t get tickets,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n
Gorzelewski, who has been seen waving a flag in the front row at Ford Field in Lions\u2019 videos, feels this should have been handled more thoughtfully and expresses feeling betrayed by the team he\u2019s supported for many years.<\/p>\n
In a response to Pride of Detroit, the Detroit Lions provided an official statement about the ticket revocations:<\/p>\n
\u201cAfter conducting internal reviews, we have determined that the accounts in question are mainly used for resale and do not align with personal use. To prioritize access for our fans, we have canceled these accounts and refunded the account holders. We encourage anyone who believes there has been an error to reach out to us for clarification or possible reinstatement.\u201d<\/p>\n
A source from the Lions mentioned that they\u2019ve received multiple reinstatement requests and have approved about half of them. Reinstatement is handled on a case-by-case basis, considering factors such as a fan\u2019s history of selling or keeping tickets beyond just the 2024 season. Tickets not reinstated will be offered to a pre-screened group of season ticket applicants currently on the waitlist.<\/p>\n
If you feel your season tickets were revoked unfairly, the Lions encourage you to contact your ticket representative.<\/p>\n
