The Duke Blue Devils are currently preparing for the Sweet 16, having entered the NCAA Tournament as the No. 1 seed, led by freshman Cooper Flagg.<\/p>\n
Flagg helped the Blue Devils defeat Mount St. Mary’s in the first round and the round of 32, both of which came in blowout fashion.<\/p>\n
The Duke freshman is up for National Player of the Year, having already established himself as a Blue Devils legend during his first season with the program.<\/p>\n
While Flagg is projected to leave the Blue Devils and enter the 2025 NBA Draft, where many believe he will be selected as the No. 1 overall pick, Duke has another young star incoming.<\/p>\n
Cameron Boozer, the son of former NBA star Carlos Boozer, is heading to play for head coach Jon Scheyer and the Blue Devils next season.<\/p>\n
Before packing his bags for Cameron Indoor Stadium, Boozer has been named the 2025 Gatorade Player of the Year.<\/p>\n
After the announcement of Boozer’s tremendous national accomplishment, he received a message from Columbus High School, where he made a name for himself as one of the top players in the country.<\/p>\n
“HISTORY. MADE. TWICE,” posted Columbus. “Cameron Boozer \u201925 has been named the Gatorade National Basketball Player of the Year \u2014 again! Already a legend, Cameron joins an elite group of only three other players to ever win this honor twice. Proud doesn’t even begin to cover it.”<\/p>\n
