BYU secures top international forward from transfer portal<\/p>\n

Just three days after BYU’s NCAA Tournament exit at the hands of Alabama, the transfer portal action picked up in Provo. On Saturday, Washington transfer Dominique Diomande revealed his commitment to Kevin Young and the Cougars, as reported by On3\u2019s Pete Nakos.<\/p>\n

Diomande arrived in Seattle midway through the season but ultimately redshirted after coming from France. Once considered a potential NBA Draft pick, he will now continue his college career at BYU.<\/p>\n

Standing 6-foot-8 and weighing 200 pounds, Diomande has a slender build and an impressive wingspan. He previously competed in 26 games for ADA Blois in France\u2019s ProA U21 league, where he averaged 16 points, six rebounds, and two assists per contest.<\/p>\n

Seen as a “diamond in the rough,” Diomande will join the rotation alongside five-star recruit AJ Dybansta, who is expected to be a one-and-done player before heading to the NBA. His addition bolsters Young\u2019s wing depth following the departures of Trevin Knell, Mawot Mag, and Trey Stewart.<\/p>\n

BYU is likely to add more players from the portal in the coming weeks, especially after a Sweet 16 appearance. While NIL opportunities will be a factor, the Cougars won\u2019t be outspent for top-tier talent.<\/p>\n
