Bears’ loss to Vikings should seal fate of another coach not named Matt Eberflus
The Chicago Bears put themselves in a position to win on the game’s last play just one week ago when they played the Green Bay Packers, a division opponent. By now, as everyone is aware, Cairo Santos’ kick was blocked, and the Bears would suffer a devastating defeat.
The Bears faced a division rival in Week 12 and once more struggled with special teams. It was a home game versus the Minnesota Vikings this time. Although it wasn’t the end of the game, the Bears were in a position to make a game-winning field goal once more in a scene straight out of deja vu.
Santos set up for another kick from the same distance as the miss from the previous week at about the middle of the second quarter.
The Bears had a chance to take a 10–7 lead at this point in a tie game, but Santos’ kick was blocked, much to the dismay of the crowd. This would be the unit’s second consecutive blocked field goal attempt.
