Toward the end of the first half of the NFC Championship, with the Eagles ahead of the Commanders 14-12, a tush-push touchdown run by quarterback Jalen Hurts resulted in receiver A.J. Brown and Commanders cornerback Marshon Lattimore engaging in a heated exchange.

In the tussle, Brown yanked Lattimoreโ€™s helmet off by the facemask. However, it was Lattimore, not Brown, who was penalized for unnecessary roughness.

The NFL has now released the standard post-game penalties. Lattimore did not receive a fine. Nonetheless, Brown was fined $11,255 for the facemask infraction that went uncalled.

The penalty against Lattimore ultimately benefited the Commanders. The infraction enabled the Eagles to try a two-point conversion from the one, but the Eagles prevented Hurts from scoring. Rather than the Eagles establishing a two-score advantage, the difference stood at eight, 20-12.

Naturally, the floodgates started to open when Commanders running back Jeremy McNichols fumbled the next kickoff, resulting in the Eagles recovering, and just 53 seconds later, it was 27-12.
