Schlager leaves RB Leipzig after four successful seasons in Germany, where he established himself as one of the Bundesliga’s most reliable midfielders. Despite Leipzig’s efforts to extend his contract, the Austrian opted for a new challenge, paving the way for a move to England.

The move will also reunite Schlager with Nottingham Forest manager Oliver Glasner, who previously coached him at Wolfsburg. Their successful working relationship is believed to have played a major role in convincing the midfielder to choose the City Ground over interest from several other European clubs.
