Growing frustration with the way Sport Witness is going
Werder Bremen are increasingly worried about their decision to sign Naby Kei from Liverpool this summer, as the player is becoming a “problem” for the club. That’s according to SportBILD, who say the midfielder is “too vulnerable” and that there is growing frustration at Werder Bremen.
Keita joined the Bundesliga club after leaving Liverpool in the summer after a few years of injury hampered his time at Anfield. It was hoped that he could return to his best in the Bundesliga and he was seen as a coup for Bremen, who were more than excited to sign him.
However, that enthusiasm turned to disappointment as Keita did not feature much in the early days of the club due to a series of injury problems. He battled back from them but has now suffered “another setback” with a hamstring injury which means he will be out for weeks again.
It is frustrating for Bremen, who considered him their “great hope” this season, as the club have carefully built him up in recent weeks, knowing his injury problems at Liverpool. Now he is becoming a problem for the club who, unlike teams like Stuttgart, ignored his medical records and signed him from Liverpool despite them. Stuttgart was one of many who were said to be “frightened” by what they quickly saw.
Keita’s health problems are one thing, but so is the fact that he will miss the Africa Cup of Nations in January and February, which he said he wants to take part in in Guinea. This will cause him to miss even more of the season, adding to the injury absences and frustration Werder Bremen are currently experiencing.
