Exclusive: Keary’s double backflip as Roosters playmaker signs with Super League club
Roosters veteran Luke Keary has backflipped again and signed with the Catalans Dragons to see out his rugby league career in the Super League.
Keary last month signed an extension with the Roosters for 2025 before changing his mind and announcing he’d be retiring at the end of this NRL season.
However, foxsports.com.au can reveal the 32-year-old has had another change of heart and will now play for the Catalans in the south of France next year.
Keary is still one of the premier playmaker’s in the NRL and has been named in Michael Maguire’s NSW squad for the opening two games of the 2024 Origin series.
The Roosters No. 6 has started his transition into the media and is also interested in working in the finance world when he hangs the boots up.
But with his form still strong, Keary has decided to take his young family to Europe for at least 12 months in what mark be a swan song to a stellar career.
