It has been an up-and-down start to Trevor Lawrence‘s career as the Jacksonville Jaguars‘ cornerstone quarterback.
Despite the lack of continuity — at least from an overall team aspect — during the former No. 1 overall pick’s three years at the helm, the Jaguars committed their future to Lawrence by signing him to a groundbreaking $275 million, five-year agreement.
Lawrence is looking forward to demonstrating to the entire football world that he is worth every penny of his megadeal.
Jacksonville Jaguars News: Trevor Lawrence Speaks Out on Adversity
According to Lawrence, it’s the adversity that he’s faced over the first three years of his career that has shaped him to be the man he is today. The 24-year-old recently opened up about the most important lesson he’s learned in his fledgling career:
“I think that experience is probably the best teacher,” Lawrence told Albert Breer of SI. “Everyone says the big thing is the ‘whys’ learned from other people’s mistakes. I believe that is correct. However, I believe that some things are simply unavoidable.
And you learn a lot when you experience them. “So I’ve experienced all those elements of it, and I understand how this game works.
The NFL is just different. It’s a long season; it really is about who’s playing best in December, January, and February, not September, October, and N.
Lawrence has only been in the job for three years, yet he already speaks like a seasoned professional. To some extent, one could argue that this young man has experienced enough to draw such conclusions.
The hardships Lawrence and the Jaguars have had over the last several seasons have resulted in the development of a star quarterback who appears to be poised to take over the league soon.
