The Detroit Lions might end up losing their existing passing game coordinator to the New York Jets.

Only a day after former Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn held his first media session as Jets coach, several reports suggest that Tanner Engstrand may be coming on board as the team’s new offensive coordinator.

NFL reporter Josina Anderson stated, “I have been informed that pass game coordinator Tanner Engstand’s name is already being considered in significant talks for the upcoming offensive coordinator position, based on a league source.”

During last year’s Lions organized team activities, the 42-year-old talked about managing his enthusiasm for possible coordinator roles down the line while staying committed to the Lions.

“You will always be present in your surroundings, and I couldn’t be more pleased to be here rather than anywhere else right now,” Engstrand told the media. “However, it was excellent; it provided a valuable chance to converse with others and face challenges.” It truly helped me understand where your beliefs lie. You can’t conceal it when they begin firing things at you.

“It’s as if you’re aware of your foundation and certain about your beliefs,” Engstrand added. “The positive aspect is that I have faith in precisely what we are accomplishing here.” I enjoyed doing that; it was wonderful, but it wouldn’t have occurred without the team success we achieved here.
