The Detroit Lions will have six players participating in the 2025 Pro Bowl Games in Orlando, marking the second consecutive year the team has sent at least five players to the event.
The Pro Bowl Games will kick off on Thursday, Jan. 30, with the Skills Showdown, leading up to various skills competitions and the AFC vs. NFC flag football championship on Sunday, Feb. 2, at Camping World Stadium. All six Lions players will take part in at least one Skills Showdown event, with four of them also competing in the flag football game.
Here’s a look at each Detroit Lions player heading to Orlando:
- SS Brian Branch
In just his second season, Branch earned his first Pro Bowl selection and is the only Lions defender heading to Orlando. During the regular season, Branch posted 109 tackles (79 solo), 16 passes defended, six quarterback hits, and four interceptions, including two in a dominant 47-9 victory over Dallas. After switching to safety, Branch formed a strong partnership with fellow safety Kerby Joseph, and his flexibility as a nickel cornerback helped the Lions during defensive injury struggles. In the win over San Francisco, Branch became the third defensive back since 1999 to record 100-plus tackles, 15 passes defended, and five tackles-for-loss in a season, joining Ronde Barber (2006) and Rodney Harrison (2000).
Events: Relay Race (Skills Showdown) + Flag Football Championship - T Taylor Decker
Decker will make his first Pro Bowl appearance, replacing teammate Penei Sewell. The nine-year veteran and Detroit’s first-round pick in 2016 earned a 77.0 PFF grade, ranking 22nd among 141 tackles. Decker signed an extension last offseason that keeps him in Detroit through 2027, and he now ranks third in franchise history for games started at the position with 126, behind Jeff Backus (191) and Lomas Brown (163).
Events: Dodgeball & Tug-of-War (Skills Showdown) - P Jack Fox
Fox will appear in his second Pro Bowl and was recently named an AP All-Pro first-team punter. His net punting average of 46.2 yards set an NFL record, surpassing Johnny Hekker’s 46.0-yard mark from 2016. Fox also led the league with a 51.0 gross punting average and became the first player in NFL history to average 51.0 gross yards and 46.0 net yards per punt in a single season. The Lions punted only 45 times during the regular season, the fewest in the league. Fox will be a starter in the event. - RB Jahmyr Gibbs
In his breakout second season, Gibbs received his first Pro Bowl nod after rushing for 1,412 yards and 16 touchdowns, adding 517 receiving yards and four touchdown catches. His 5.6 yards per carry ranked third behind Baltimore’s Derrick Henry and Philadelphia’s Saquon Barkley. Gibbs set a new franchise record with 20 scrimmage touchdowns and became the fourth player in NFL history to achieve at least 1,900 scrimmage yards, 16 rushing touchdowns, and four receiving touchdowns in a season, joining David Johnson (2016), Marshall Faulk (2000), and O.J. Simpson (1975).
Events: Relay Race (Skills Showdown) + Flag Football Championship - QB Jared Goff
In his fourth season with Detroit and ninth overall, Goff played some of the best football of his career. He set personal bests with a 72.4% completion rate and 37 touchdown passes, ranking second in the league with 4,629 passing yards. Over a six-game stretch, Goff posted the highest completion percentage (82.8%) and passer rating (140.1) ever recorded in NFL history during such a span. He was also a finalist for the NFL MVP award alongside Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, and Saquon Barkley. This marks Goff’s fourth Pro Bowl selection, and he will be the NFC’s starting quarterback. - C Frank Ragnow
Ragnow, Detroit’s first-round pick in 2018, will make his fourth Pro Bowl appearance, his third in a row. One of the top centers in the NFL, Ragnow allowed just two sacks on 583 pass-blocking reps, helping Detroit rank 10th in fewest sacks allowed with 33. He also earned a 90.8 run-blocking grade from Pro Football Focus, ranking third among centers. Ragnow will be the starting center for the NFC in Orlando.
