As the NBA trade deadline nears, the Chicago Bulls could be among the most active teams in the league. Both Nikola Vucevic and Zach LaVine are reportedly available, with the Golden State Warriors rumored to be interested in acquiring one of them.

It remains to be seen how that situation unfolds. Meanwhile, could the Bulls make a move for one of the league’s most underrated point guards?

Shams Charania reports that the Sacramento Kings are expected to explore trade discussions involving All-Star De’Aaron Fox before the February 6 deadline.

Several teams, such as the San Antonio Spurs, have been linked to Fox, but Chicago might be in a strong position to put together an attractive trade package.

In recent years, the Bulls have frequently moved players, including Alex Caruso and DeMar DeRozan.

They have also been open to trade discussions regarding LaVine and Vucevic. While neither has been moved yet, there is still a chance both could be dealt soon.

The Bulls have the necessary assets to pursue Fox. They own five tradable first- and second-round picks and possess lower-salary players who could help match Fox’s contract.

As Austin McGee noted on Pippen Ain’t Easy: “San Antonio is a logical destination, but ultimately, the trade will go to the team that presents the best overall offer to Sacramento. The Bulls may not have an abundance of premium assets, but they can still offer a more competitive package than most teams.”

Top earners like LaVine, Vucevic, and Lonzo Ball give Chicago the flexibility to structure a deal.

Fox’s playing style aligns well with the Bulls’ fast-paced approach. Chicago is among the league’s quickest teams, and Fox has been one of the best transition players—something that could make him thrive in Chicago.

McGee added: “Fox’s arrival would make a significant impact. The Bulls need an influx of talent but remain close to securing a guaranteed playoff spot. Adding Fox to their current core could push Chicago into the upper echelon of the Eastern Conference without requiring a full rebuild, which the Front Office has been reluctant to pursue.”

Acquiring Fox would provide Chicago with a much-needed shift in direction, both in terms of talent and offensive structure. It would be a step forward for a team that has been stuck in mediocrity without committing to a rebuild.

With the February 6 deadline looming, it remains to be seen if the Bulls make a move to acquire Fox from the Kings.
