Jordan Seaton, a widely regarded five-star recruit, discussed his experience of being the first true freshman to start at offensive tackle in the history of Colorado football.
“Did you experience any pressure about beginning, as the first freshman to start at offensive attack in Colorado’s history?” Hunter inquired.
Seaton recognized the difficulty but attributed his smooth transition to the support of his teammates.
“Oh, I sense it was a bit of pressure,” Seaton expressed. “However, it turned out to be a positive experience.” Excited to join you all in play. I believe that seeing you all reach your goals made it easier for me to focus on my own.
Seaton’s impressive freshman year did not escape attention. Colorado announced that he has been recognized as a Freshman All-American by the Football Writers Association of America. The highly praised lineman played in all 13 games at left tackle, making a quick impact and securing his spot in the Buffaloes’ legacy.
Jordan Seaton: Colorado’s emerging talent on the offensive line
Jordan Seaton, the top offensive tackle in the 2024 class and the 13th-ranked player nationwide, selected Colorado instead of Ohio State, Tennessee, Florida, and Maryland.
Seaton’s influence on Colorado’s offensive line was instant. Following a sluggish beginning, during which he conceded two sacks and nine pressures in the initial two games, he focused. In the last seven games, he permitted not a single sack. During the final three weeks of the season, he allowed no pressures. His superiority granted him a 77.2 pass-blocking score from PFF and an Honorable Mention for Offensive Freshman of the Year.
His presence played a crucial role in changing Colorado’s offensive line. The unit, a weakness in the prior season, improved its pressure rate allowed from 110th to 77th and increased its rushing average from 2.31 to 2.71 yards per carry.
Seaton’s blocking provided quarterback Shedeur Sanders with essential protection and opened up opportunities for playmakers such as Travis Hunter, including a crucial block that resulted in a touchdown.
With Sanders leaving for the NFL, Colorado’s offense will showcase a new quarterback in 2025. The contest between Liberty transfer Kaidon Salter and five-star newcomer Julian Lewis will shape the offseason, but one fact is clear—Seaton will be leading the line. Colorado has brought in four offensive line transfers and three new freshmen, indicating a complete transformation.
