Michigan woman Megan Stefanski was named the 2024 NFL Fan of the Year due to her passion for the Detroit Lions.
The announcement was made during the 2025 NFL Honors awards show on FOX, Thursday evening.
Just a day after receiving her award, spoke with Stefanski in downtown New Orleans.
“We’re currently on Royal Street,” she shared. “We’re ready to be tourists and relax in New Orleans.”
Stefanski wasn’t alone. During a six-minute Zoom chat, she was joined by super fan and former fan of the year, Ron “Crackman” Crachiola.
Then, some Lions fans unexpectedly joined the conversation, followed by other Detroit fans, including the International Fan of the Year from London.
“Are you guys ready to party this weekend and represent the Detroit Lions?”
All: “Heck yeah!” However, the heart of the story lies in the love of a daughter for her late father.
Megan’s father was Donnie “Yooper Man” Stefanski. FOX 2 interviewed him in 2018.
He traveled to every Lions home game from his home in the Upper Peninsula until he passed away in 2019.
Megan continues that tradition today. For a 1 p.m. home game, she leaves the UP at 2:30 a.m., drives five hours to the game, and then makes the return trip afterward. She also rallied Lions fans from across the state to raise over $30,000 for charity last year.
Her unwavering dedication earned her the title of 2024 NFL Fan of the Year.
“It’s an honor to represent Detroit, the Upper Peninsula, and all of Michigan. It feels unreal,” she said. “I still can’t believe it.”
“It’s a special moment,” Crachiola said. “She told me yesterday. I was so thrilled for her, and I know her dad is smiling. It’s a well-deserved honor.”
