Gabe Vincent Makes Bold LeBron James Prediction for Remainder of 2024-25 Season
LOS ANGELES – Another game, another record-breaking performance from LeBron James as the Los Angeles Lakers secured a 120-112 victory over the Golden State Warriors. James became the oldest player in NBA history to score 40 points in a game, surpassing Michael Jordan. According to Lakers teammate Gabe Vincent, this won’t be the last time LeBron James accomplishes such a feat.
Although James is aware of his longevity and the time he has left in the league, he has yet to show any signs of slowing down.
After dropping 42 points against the Warriors, Vincent shared his belief that LeBron James will continue making history this season. He joked that he couldn’t imagine himself doing anything similar at that age, let alone thinking that far into the future.
“I can’t even think that far ahead, I don’t even know. LeBron’s been incredible. He’s been doing this for 22 years and will keep doing it. I highly doubt this is the last time he’ll have 40 over 40,” Vincent said. “We’ve got a lot of games left, a lot of season left. I’m excited to see what other records he sets and breaks.”
With the Lakers experiencing a whirlwind week after the Luka Doncic and Mark Williams trades, Vincent praised James for setting the tone and energizing the team.
“He’s leading us in every possible way,” Vincent said. “The energy has been great. Even the new guys, late additions to the team, they’re bringing great energy. Our bench was fantastic tonight. The guys who stepped in gave us a boost. We’re cheering each other on, and our team spirit is strong right now.”
Gabe Vincent Continues Strong Play for Lakers
When the Lakers signed Gabe Vincent as a free agent in the 2023 offseason, the expectation was that he would continue the level of play that helped lead the Miami Heat to the 2023 NBA Finals as their starting point guard.
However, Vincent’s Lakers debut was delayed due to a knee injury that required surgery. He was limited to just 11 games and was active for the team’s first-round playoff loss to the Denver Nuggets but was unable to make an impact.
This season, Vincent has remained healthy and has been a steady contributor off the bench. Over his last five games, he is shooting 47.3 percent from three-point range. He has scored in double figures in three of those five games, including a season-high 15 points in the win over the Warriors.
Following the game, Vincent discussed what it means to make a positive impact on the team.
“It’s great to see shots fall, but more importantly, it’s about winning. Making shots in a loss would be just as frustrating as missing shots,” Vincent said. “I’m just happy we got the win.”
