The Detroit Lions are seen as one of the prime potential destinations for Cleveland Browns star Myles Garrett if a trade occurs, and that reasoning is entirely logical.
Ultimately, Garrett aims to compete for a Super Bowl, and the Lions recently finished 15-2. They might also need assistance with their pass rush, having accumulated only 41 sacks in 2024.
Nonetheless, it seems that Detroit defensive end Aidan Hutchinson isn’t particularly interested in Garrett, as the former No. 2 overall selection made some odd remarks about him when questioned about the chance of the Lions bringing him in.
Detroit radio host Mike Valenti expressed his disapproval of Hutchinson’s remarks and made it clear on WXYT-FM 97.1.
“When in history have you ever heard a top player express that they preferred not to be among other great players?” Valenti inquired. “It’s among the most foolish things I’ve ever listened to.” Simply right away. If you wish to express that it’s beyond your responsibility, you prefer to avoid it, I understand. If you wish to express, ‘Absolutely, I would be thrilled to have him, but obviously that choice is made beyond my control, okay.’ You know, I’ve never heard a great player say, ‘Nah, we don’t actually need that.’ “Can’t have so many excellent players on a D-line.”
