As Kendrick Lamar fans eagerly await the release of tickets for his Grand National tour, set to go on sale this Valentine’s Day (February 14, 2025), it’s worth recalling the issues that Oasis fans encountered when trying to secure tickets for their highly anticipated reunion shows in 2025. However, don’t expect Noel Gallagher to be one of those upset if he misses out on tickets to see Lamar and SZA this year, judging by his recent remarks on Talksport.

On the sporting radio station, Gallagher shared his thoughts on the halftime show, saying, “I had to switch it off. It was absolute nonsense […] I didn’t watch it all, I just switched it off. There was (sic) like 300 people getting out of a car in the first two minutes.” But his criticism goes beyond just Kendrick Lamar performing at the event, as Noel continued: “I don’t like the halftime nonsense, it’s usually artists I don’t like,” he stated. “I never watch it, I’m not interested in it.”

Noel voiced his discontent with the combination of sports and music, slamming halftime entertainment as an unwanted American influence on British sporting events.

“Americans are taking over our sport,” he argued. “They’ve taken over the Premier League, and they’ll take over the Champions League too. Trust me, in 20 years, it’ll all be nonsense,” he predicted.

Despite Noel’s criticism, the Super Bowl LIX halftime performance still became the most-watched halftime show in NFL history, attracting 133.5 million viewers, compared to the actual game’s average of 126 million viewers.
