Nick Bosa’s mother has an intriguing appeal for the San Francisco 49ers’ front office this NFL offseason, urging them to sign a pivotal player from the Los Angeles Chargers to fulfill her wish of having her son stay.

Joey is now in southern California, where he plays as a linebacker at So-Fi Stadium for the AFC West team. He has been nominated for the Pro Bowl five times and was the 2016 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year, accumulating 343 tackles and 72 sacks

Currently, Nick is at Levi’s Stadium in the Bay Area within the NFC West, where he is also recognized as a DROTY and the NFL Defensive Player of the Year for 2022. He also has five Pro Bowl nominations along with remarkable stats, including 261 tackles and 62.5 sacks.

However, in spite of their Pro Bowl achievements and notable careers, their mother feels frustrated that she has never witnessed them wear the same jersey since they play for different teams in different conferences. Currently, Cheryl is determined to alter that situation.

Reports from Jason La Canfora and The Washington Post indicate the Chargers are prepared to conclude their association with Joey and Cheryl, who serves as a luxury real estate advisor, quickly joined the excitement by posting an altered image of her two sons in 49ers uniforms on Instagram.

Is it possible for the 49ers to sign Joey Bosa?

Joey has demonstrated his loyalty to the Chargers during his tenure with the team, remaining with them through their move from San Diego to Los Angeles; however, the 29-year-old’s future in blue, white, and yellow may be nearing its conclusion.

His appearances for the team have diminished in recent years, having only played 28 times with 18 starts over the last three seasons, yet he still recorded 52 tackles during that span along with 14 sacks. Regarding his talent, he still has more to offer.

Moreover, this summer he will enter free agency, allowing the 49ers to extend an offer without being tied to the five-year $135m contract he had in LA with what is likely to be his previous team. Thus, he might be a choice.

Nevertheless, the 49ers possess a costly roster and with just $41.2 million in salary cap space and offensive issues due to injuries to Christian McCaffrey, Deebo Samuel, and Brandon Aiyuk during the 2024/25 season, they could prioritize acquiring an offensive player over enhancing their defensive line.
