Kelly Stafford shared an emotional message for Anna Kupp, wife of Cooper Kupp, following news that the Los Angeles Rams are exploring trade possibilities for the Pro Bowl receiver.
Kupp confirmed on Monday via social media that the Rams had informed him of their plans to trade him this offseason.
“I was told the team will be seeking a trade and will work with me and my family to find the right place for me to continue competing for championships. I don’t agree with the decision and always thought it would start and end in LA,” Kupp wrote.
“But if there’s one thing I’ve learned over the years, it’s that so many things are out of your control, but how you respond to them is what you’ll remember.”
Despite dealing with injuries, Kupp has been a key player for the Rams’ offense. Over eight seasons, he has totaled 634 receptions for 7,776 yards and 57 touchdowns—many of those with Matthew Stafford as his quarterback.
The two developed a strong bond on the field, which extended to their families, with their wives also growing close—a connection Kelly Stafford emphasized in her message.
“Someone who welcomed me with open arms into this city, who always knows how to make me smile, and consistently helps me remember what truly matters. Not sure what this place will be like without you,” Kelly Stafford wrote on Instagram. “Not sure if I want to find out.”
With Kupp, who is 31 and coming off a season with 67 catches for 710 yards in 12 games, likely to attract interest, the Rams will have multiple potential trade offers.
